After having had so many conversations about great it is to live in Europe (or the West), here two links (unfortunately in German) pointing to our current problems:
- The government of New Zealand (the great example of neo-liberalism) decided to purchase the railway system back from private companies.
- Maybe even Ireland will reject the crooked EU constitution
Yes, I know, it’s not a matter of dying tomorrow because of violence, lack of food or anything similar. But honestly, what is going on here – large scale criminality by politicians and media – really makes me wanna move. I am already happy to be outside of the EU but still, is there no good places, where people care and work for teh community and politicians are crooked but just on a small scale? Oceania? Antilles?
We’ll see what Obama brings to the US but if he’s keeping his word (and swagger), then we’d need similar people here in Europe.
