Peak oil, peak food, peak water

The three upcoming challenges of our world nicely summed up at Telepolis (DE). For those who do not understand German it says in essence:

  1. Fossil fuels are becoming scarce and expensive.
  2. Biofuels occupy important area needed to grow food.
  3. Clima change also makes us loose areas to grow food and use more water to irrigate.
  4. Food prices will hike even more, just like water and oil resulting in many people starving.

For the lifestyle we have, we are just too many people in this world. So, either we adapt our lives cutting down in consumption and focussing on local sustainability or the dynamic system we move in will create an equilibrium by adapting the number of people living to our livestyle. Let’s work for the former one.
