So finally I managed to upload some pictures from last year and also now from last weekend’s walk in the winter wonder land. Enjoy!
Otherwise, what’s going on? Yesterday I was cross country skiing for the second time in my life (first time was maybe around 14). This time the trail was much more difficult with tons of up and down in nordmarka north of Oslo (Tryvann). On the other hand I got taught some tricks before, so overall it went pretty much as good/bad as last time. ;)
The area itself is really great with tons of forrest and broad trails for newbies like me and small trails for experienced skiers. And then there is tons of pretty friendly people on the tracks. They actually did not really mind me falling in front of them (which happend quite a bit) and instead even gave some tips. And while I did not mind so much falling at the beginning, so did falling forward and backward start to hurt quite a bit towards the end. Today I have an interesting mixture of pains, some of which are these background grumbling eelings of being exhausted, some are these feeling that remind you every now and then that you overstretched something and some are these hurtful blisters and cuts. Still, I am really happy that I tried it and I am sure that I’ll go again to get used to the feeling of the ski not being fully attached to the foot and following each little edge in the snow. And yes, some more flat trails would be less hurtful for this. ;)
