Hmm, sorry for the delay, the writing here has been procrastinated from evening to evening. Unfortunately. But well ,the week was stressy with applications to write (got one call while sitting on the toilet *lol* and one inter-continent call) and the project is pretty stuck still – need to find out what kind of instrument we want. What its expression should be and so on. If it should be like a electronic guitar or a piano…

Luckily enough weather is on the way to become better (most snow is melted and the streets are cleared) and nicely enough it’s already bright until 1930 which makes the days much nicer. Still, it’s mostly gray and a bit raining, blowing, cloudy which keeps me off sports (beneath the other time-demanding activities). Well, at least I did some Capoeira this week… it’s going better and better and I also feel a bit more flexible. Still, the big muscle chunks are not here. In contrast, my belly feels softer than it used to. or I only became more aware of it. Anyways, time until May is ticking and I really should start serious training for the semi-marathon.

More on future plans: Did the planning for bigW’s and my Easter trip (revival!) to Norway. Really cool, planned to rent a car and do soem driving and chasing through cities. Really looking forward to it. Ad propos car: Almost got run over by a car. Actually less serious than it sounds since the car was maybe doing 30 kph. Felt more weird than dangerous in the retrospective. Happened when I was crossing the street at uni and this car approaching with rather low speed to the crossing – seemingly braking. However then when I continued the car did not decelerate since the lady was busy with other stuff in there. So I made a quick last step and reached the other end securely (even quite a bit of security distance there). The driver realised the situation late, and much worse, did not react. That’s what annoys me most here these days (actually the whole winter was annoying from that point of view). To have to watch out for all others as cyclist I am well used and comfortable with, but what I really demand the other people (mainly car drivers) to do is to show some hindsight for their errors that endanger bikers. However, that happens seldom and mkes me want to sometimes just hop off the bike and let it roll on into their vehicle. Really frustrating sometimes.

Talking about bikes, had a couple of tough days from Monday until Friday. Tuesday was crowned with my mountain bike having a puncture (gotta fix that now later) – always thought that MTB tires should be less vulnerable. But with the actual amount of gravel and glass on the streets (end of March is the time when the all-winter gravel is removed from the streets and cafés and bars in Sweden are allowed to serve outside, which they immediately started) there is no wonder that my tires get holes. So for this realson I used the folding-bike I got from Pieter on WED, THU, FRI and SAT. Really cool bike and I really enjoy biking with it. Totally different feeling of biking. Hardly anything slower but more relaxed. Only against the wind is pretty exhausting. Still, a really cool bike and I am really glad that I bought it and I intend to keep it. Bought now a honk to put on it. Yay!

Then, yesterday was Fool’s Day. First time for a long while that nobody played any tricks on me. At least I don’t know of any yet. Also wanted to wish ‘Happy Birthday!’ to Apple, since they have their 30th anniversary. And no new product yet. D’oh. I want a iPod with GSM module.

There was also somebody else celebrating a 30th anniversary yesterday: The Murray Pipes & Drums here in Gothenburg, where one guy from our programme is a Piping Novice. We (Jetske and me) went there listening and it was really cool. I always dug scottish bagpipe music – it gives me shivers and the performance did just so. Great performance. Cool sound from both the pipes and the drumbeat. Further more really nice drumstick twisting from one of the drummers. Still, bets moment was a solist starting “Amazing Grace” and then the whole group joining in. That’s something I want to have at my funeral. :)

So far the reporting is finished for now, I’ll add some more text in the near future.

Enjoy the spring!

Even having accidents once and a while, please don’t hurry with your funeral.

    :)

Don’t worry about me. The interesting thing about this situation was that I was not at all in a hurry and as always just glad about a pretty good reaction. For me this situation was more typical for Gothenburg’s car drivers (or Swedes in general?!?), that don’t show any hindsight.

On the other hand, the traffic here is pretty safe and calm. Only a lot of confused pedestrians. Nothing to really worry about. ;)
