After first breaking off a pedal on my Weekend Star (the folding bike I hgot from Pieter when he left – a highly sympathetic and to-be-envied-for bike for leisure biking) I now broke off the axis connecting the pedals. Maybe it’s the hills of Oslo, where I moved the bike to by now, or it is that I’m just too strong. Anyways, repair would have been around 700 NOK. If we keep in mind that Pieter paid something like 50EUR in Poland to buy it and I gave 30EUR for it, it doesn not seem worth the investment, not even for nostalgic reasons.
So instead I found an old DSB folding bike (actually it’s an unscrewing bike) on a closing sale for 800NOK. So I bought that one and gave the Weekend Star to the owner for spare parts. Since he did not pay anything I still could transfer all the nice parts to my DSB, which is why the saddel and the steering of the Weekend Star will now hopefully provide me company for many years still. ;)
